I’ve
Been Adopted!

Lou
This mellow fellow is ready for a home.
Lou is a 5-month-old black and tan hound mix. Can't tell if he has a
hound bark because he really doesn't "talk", except an occasional
play bark at Ruby. He is just a very quiet dog. Happy to join in
some fun or just lay at your feet. We think he is very handsome, nice
body structure and a cute curious face that is irresistible. He is the kind of
dog you just want to cuddle up with and he reminds me of a floppy, albeit
oversized, stuffed animal. He is kennel trained, has a good start on
housetraining, and seems to be beyond the worst of the puppy chewing
stage. He is healthy, has his shots, and is ready to go. All he
requires is neutering next month. He doesn't jump, knows sit, and
NO. Does pretty well with come if there aren't distractions. He
does need some leash training work. Because he is so mellow and doesn't
jump we think he would be great with kids, even small ones. He gravitates
towards activity and people so a fence is going to be necessary to keep him
from wondering across the street to join the party (which he is prone to do at
our house). He requires a vigilant eye as he has an active nose, but not
near what we have witnessed in full breed hounds, however I wouldn't leave food
on the counter until he has learned some house rules. Outside he can't
be
left unattended if not secured. We aren't sure what else he is mixed
with, but think he will probably be an average B & T size. He has
short sleek black hair that doesn't seem to shed. This would make a great
family dog or a companion for someone who just wants to hang out. If you
are looking for a Frisbee, agility, or flyball dog this isn't your guy.
Fishing, Sunday afternoons reading the paper, hiking in the woods, or watching
your favorite TV show are more this dog’s speed.
